So today I stared at my yarn stash for a good 20 minutes and finally came to the realization that I was not going to use every single color for any future projects I had in mind the next couple of days….months….ok years.
So I realized why give it away when I can put it to perfect use and make blankets that I can donate to the local animal shelter ! 2 birds 1 stone don’t you think ??
Anyways so since I had more than enough and finished a few blankets within a couple of hours I felt the need to share the pattern so we can all work together in supplying our local animal shelters with blankets to last the foster pups a good couple of years or something at no cost to them 🙂
So it’s a beautiful day to crochet ! Let’s get started ^-^
Materials:
-
- Size N Hook (10mm)
Clover 1057/NP Amour Crochet Hook, Size N/P/10.0mm
-
- Three colors of Worsted weight yarn (a majority of mine was Red Heart Super Saver)
Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Yarn, Cherry Red
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
Gauge:
- Gauge does not matter since you can make it according to the pattern or if preferred you can make it longer or wider. The choice is up to you 🙂
Abbreviations:
- Ch- Chain
- DC- Double Crochet
- St- Stitch
- Sl St- Slip Stitch
Pattern:
~Holding three strands of yarn together~
Ch44
1-DC in 3rd chain from hook and each st after (42) ch2 turn
2- 1DC in each st across (42) ch2 turn
3-27– 1DC in each st across (42)
~If you want to make the blanket wider just add more chains in beginning, If you want to make it longer just add a couple more rows of DC :)~
I love experimenting with different colors and you’ll actually be surprised with how many color combinations look so cute together ! I picked random yarns and once the end of one yarn got near i just tied on a new color and kept going 🙂
Positive side to these blankets: Dogs are colorblind so whether the color is ugly or not they don’t care ! As long as it keeps them warm in the colder months they’ll be happy 🙂
I would love to see your random colors and pup blankets ! Tag my pages or use #MHpattern so I can see your projects ^-^ Hope you all love this pattern ♥
You may sell items made from this pattern but by any means you MAY NOT redistribute, alter or sell this pattern in any way. I wanted to make this pattern free so it can have good benefits towards not only other crocheters but to foster pups as well. If you sell this item I do ask that you link back to this page for others to enjoy this free pattern as well and of course credit me as the designer 🙂 Thank you for reading ❤
